
Emma Tinker (Chairperson)
Asper Investment Management
Emma Tinker is Chief Investment Officer of Asper Investment Management, which she co-founded in 2016, as the spin-out of HgCapital’s renewable energy business.
Emma started the renewable energy business that led to the raising of Hg’s first renewable energy fund in 2003.
Emma is responsible for Asper’s investment strategy, is Chair of the Investment Committee and sits on the Sustainability and Platform Management Committees. She leads the origination and strategic business planning on existing platforms and new investments. Emma has led and managed investments, financings and exits in different markets and technologies, including Invis Energy, Ireland’s largest renewables company.
Emma joined WEI as Chairperson in 2023.

Andrew Burke
Enerco
Andrew Burke has been involved in the energy industry for over 25 years, covering the SEM and GB power markets, as well as other European power markets and a wide range of European and global commodity markets, including gas, coal, oil and emissions.
He sits on the Modifications committees for the SEM balancing (as Vice-Chair) and ex-ante markets; following election by industry members, to drive the development of the SEM power market, working with renewable and thermal generators, suppliers, consumers, system operators and regulators.
He was elected to the Wind Energy Council in 2019, re-elected in 2022, and has sat on the board of directors since 2022. Andrew chairs the Wind Energy Ireland Markets Committee and s actively involved in several other committees and working groups, especially where they touch on the realm of markets.
Andy joined WEI as a Board member in 2022.

Danielle Conaghan
Arthur Cox
Danielle is a partner and Head of Arthur Cox’s Environment and Planning Group.
She has specialist expertise and uses her project management skills in advising on matters related to wind energy project development including the decision-making processes from pre-consultation and application stages through to oral hearing, construction and operational stages and securing and assessing the risk of providing project-financing. Danielle regularly presents at national Environmental, Planning and Energy conferences; lectures on the Law Society of Ireland Environmental Diploma Course and is co-author, with Dr Yvonne Scannell, of the annual environmental chapter of ‘Construction Projects: Law and Practice’, published by Thomson Reuters.
Danielle joined WEI as a Board member in 2024.

Eoin Cassidy
Mason Hayes & Curran
Eoin Cassidy is a Senior Partner at Mason Hayes & Curran and head of the firm’s Energy team.
A graduate of University College Dublin, Eoin became interested in the wind farm industry in Ireland as a trainee solicitor with Mason Hayes & Curran and he has been actively involved in wind energy projects in Ireland for 20 years. He is widely recognised as a leading legal advisor in the energy sector.
Eoin joined WEI as a Board member in 2024.

Patrick Maguire
Schroders Greencoat
Patrick Maguire has worked in the renewables industry for over 20 years. He currently works with Schroders Greencoat since 2017 and is responsible for the management of Greencoat’s EU portfolio of renewable assets, including 25 operating wind farms in Ireland.
Before joining Schroders Greencoat, Patrick was at Mainstream Renewable Power for ten years (four years working in the USA), rising to the position of Head of Generation Operations with overall responsibility for the company’s operating projects globally. Prior to this, he worked at Airtricity in various operational roles between 2002 and 2008.
Patrick is a Chartered Engineer qualifying from Trinity College, Dublin.
Patrick joined WEI as a Board member in 2023.

Maria Ryan
SSE Renewables
Maria Ryan is currently the Director of Offshore Development for the UK and Ireland at SSE Renewables, with responsibility for a development pipeline of over 9GW of offshore wind.
Maria is a chartered engineer and a graduate of Mechanical Engineering from University College Dublin (UCD) with an MSc from UCD.
Maria was inspired to pursue a career in renewables after completing a final year project back in 2001 on the feasibility of Offshore wind in Ireland. Maria has extensive experience having worked in the renewable energy industry for over 20 years, holding portfolio management roles across SSE Renewables, Mainstream Renewable Power and Airtricity.
Maria joined WEI as a Board member in 2022.

Derek Scully
Energia Group
Derek Scully is Head of Corporate Affairs at Energia Group.
A proud graduate of University College Dublin and The Honorable Society of King’s Inns, Derek decided to pursue a career in energy after initial exposure to the sector as a consultant. The importance, complexity and always changing nature of this sector to the energy transition is a constant motivation.
Prior to taking up the role as Head of Corporate Affairs in 2020, Derek had spent 10 years as Regulation Manager with Energia and was actively involved in a number of WEI Committees and Working Group.
Derek joined WEI as a Board member in 2023.

Joe Dalton
NTR
Joe Dalton is Director of Engineering and Asset Management at NTR
Joe is responsible for the engineering, construction, and operations of NTR’s energy transition portfolio in Ireland, UK, France, Sweden, Finland, Italy, and Spain.
Joe has worked in both conventional and renewable energy generation for almost 40 years, utilising wind, solar, battery, coal, oil and gas turbine technologies. Joe has supervised the construction and operation of over 1.2GW of energy assets while at NTR, in addition to overall responsibility for technical due diligence on assets and oversight of a pipeline of development assets in Ireland and elsewhere.
Joe has travelled extensively, conducting technical due diligence on renewable energy equipment manufacturers throughout Europe, USA and China. Prior to NTR, Joe worked for Mainstream Renewable Power, where he undertook a variety of roles for onshore and offshore wind projects worldwide. Previously, Joe held various technical and managerial roles in ESB. He is a Chartered Engineer and is married with six children.

Peter Lefroy
RWE
Peter Lefroy is Head of Offshore Development Ireland and UK West at RWE.
Peter is a global leader in the development of renewable and conventional energy generation.
A proud graduate of University of Limerick and Trinity College Dublin, he was inspired to pursue a career in Engineering after developing an interest in energy and the harnessing of natural resources in a sustainable way.
Prior to working at RWE, Peter was a Development Manager at Energia Renewables where he was responsible for the development of a large portfolio of onshore wind projects and other related technologies. And previous to that, he worked as a Project Manager with Jennings O’Donovan and supported the development of energy and wastewater projects from inception through advanced development, construction and into operation.
Peter joined WEI as a Board member in 2026.
